Blue is the colour – Day 14

One question made my day

It’s been a funny sort of day. For starters I’ve been in London and trying to find time to post has been a nightmare.  So I’m writing this on the train on the way home.

I was in London for a union meeting and as I’m sure you can imagine blue isn’t the most popular colour. But I pledged to #wearblueforcharlie  every day in April and that wasn’t going to change today.

I decided it was probably best to avoid ‘tory blue’ (I had brought several options with me) so chose to go for this pale blue dress.

And, for two reasons, I’m really pleased you I did.

Firstly I haven’t worn this dress for nearly two years.  Not because I don’t like it – I do but because it didn’t fit.  So my success in the dieting game has opened up a whole new (or should I say old) wardrobe for me.

Secondly, and this is what made my day.   I got asked out! By a complete stranger!! At the train station!!!  And before my sons say anything.  He wasn’t old, he wasn’t ugly and he wasn’t blind.  In fact he seemed quite nice.

Of course I said no.  After all I was in London and I don’t live there and he was a complete, albeit attractive, stranger.  But it did make me feel good about myself.

Two and a half hours after getting on the train, with the internet cutting in and out, I’ve finally finished this post so please take pity on me and help me raise funds for the Charlie Cookson Foundation

Not just about wearing blue – Charlie’s Angels

All the children and families Charlie helps are known as Charlie’s Angels – here Sarah and Chris Cookson, Charlie’s amazing parents, tell us why.

Filming this section of the interview brought tears to my eyes.  I don’t know how anyone could fail to be moved.

Blue is the colour – Day 13

13.04.16I’m going to London after work today so needed something comfortable to wear – I’ll try to raise awareness of the Charlie Cookson Foundation while I’m there.  It’s also still raining in South Shields so it was back to the winter wardrobe.  I love this dress with the sweet blue flowers and it’s really comfortable so perfect for the day ahead.
