We’re having a Street Party

We’re having a party. Not just any party.  A Street Party.

We’ll be raising money for the Charlie Cookson Foundation and celebrating the Queen’s 90th Birthday. It’s free to attend and everyone is welcome.

A right royal celebration

It’s Party Time

As you probably know the Queen is 90 this year.  Although her actual birthday was on 21 April the country will continue to celebrate in style until her Official Birthday in June.  We’ve already seen beacons lit across the country, new stamps release and a televised pageant from the grounds of Windsor Castle.

And there’s still more to come with a service of thanksgiving on 10 June, Trooping of the Colour (Birthday Parade) on 11 June and the Patrons Lunch and Street Party in the Mall on 12 June.  Oh and I nearly forgot to mention, that in true British style, there’ll also be extended pub opening hours on Friday 10 June.

As there’s to be a whole weekend of celebrations in London I thought it would be nice to find a way to join in. So after much thought (well about 10 minutes anyway) I’ve decided I’m going to have a………………………

on Sunday 12 June

And it’s not just to celebrate the Queen’s Birthday.  It’s to raise funds for the Charlie Cookson Foundation as well

I’m still finalising the arrangements but I promise it will be a great day for all the family.  More information will follow in the next couple of days but if you live in or around South Shields why not put the date in your diary now.

Guess the name – before it’s too late

A couple of weeks ago I launched a competition to win this cute bunny and raise funds for the Charlie Cookson Foundation

Bunny

Now I haven’t really been very good at promoting it so I thought I’d give people a last chance to enter.

Click here and follow the instructions to choose your name before Wednesday 11 April.

Remember – You’ve got to be in it to win it
