Lose to win – Week 19

It’s been a busy week.  With getting everything sorted for the Street Party

Event photo

bringing my son home from University for the summer and a busy week at work dieting wasn’t really my top priority and was often at the back of my mind.  I’ve had a few minor blips but in the whole I think I’ve managed to be good.

So as I went through to get weighed this morning I was hopeful, though not particularly confident.  And the result is……..

12st 4

I’ve lost another pound and have now lost all the weight I put on a couple of weeks back.  But what it is showing me is that the old myth that the final half stone is the hardest to lose is actually true.

Anyway it’s another £1 for the Charlie Cookson Foundation, hopefully the first of many this week, and another step on the way to reaching my goal of 2 stone by my birthday in August.

If you’re impressed with my success you can add to my £’s for pounds at www.justgiving.com/5iftyby5ifty or to donate by phone text FIFB50 £1 to 70070

And don’t forget if about the Street Party.  Everyone’s welcome and all the money raised will go to the Charlie Cookson Foundation.  You can find out more or let me know you’ll be coming here.

Lose to win – Week 18

Diet wise, I’ve been good this week.

Except the couple of cakes I’ve eaten at work.  Apart from that I’ve been good.

Oh and the night with friends from work a leaving do.  So I’ve been pretty good.

And I almost forgot I went to the food festival where I ate and drank to much.  But apart from that I’ve been fairly good.

Apart from yesterday – when I had my Grandchildren to stay – and couldn’t resist the chocolate orange brownies.

So I’ve really, hardly been good at all.

Now I’m about to get weighed and am more worried than I was when I started writing this.  Ok here goes…………………..

It can’t be that bad can it?

And the result is……………….

12 st 5

Now that was a surprise. Not sure how (considering all of the above) but I’ve somehow actually managed to lose 2 pound.

I can only guess it must have been the Goat Curry or the amount of hot chilli’s I ate at the food festival – otherwise I can only assume that somehow the cake and chocolate and alcohol was calorie free – which I’m fairly sure isn’t true.

Anyway it means another £2 for the Charlie Cookson Foundation and after the gain a couple of weeks ago I’m back to only needing to lose half a stone to hit my target.

If you’re impressed with my success you can add to my £’s for pounds at www.justgiving.com/5iftyby5ifty or to donate by phone text FIFB50 £1 to 70070

And don’t forget I’m holding a Street Party to celebrated the Queen’s 90th Birthday and raise even more for the Charlie Cookson Foundation.  You can find out more or let me know you’ll be coming here.

Lose to win – Week 17

I’ve tried to be good this week.  Unfortunately I haven’t always succeeded.

For example I bought some chocolate flavour cereal bars to have for breakfast.  They’re really nice and at only 99 calories perfect for my calorie controlled diet – or so you would think.

Not in my case because I somehow managed to eat the whole box (there’s 4 in a box) in less than an hour – turns out the chocolate rush was just too much for me – so I won’t be buying them again.

Then I attended the UNISON Northern Region Disabled Members Policy Weekend in Durham which meant an overnight stay in a hotel.  I intended to be good and go swimming but I forgot my swimming costume.  And the Prosecco and cake were just too tempting – it was someone’s birthday so it would be rude not to.

But the rest of the time I haven’t been too bad.  So this morning I could only hope the scales wouldn’t be too unkind.

And the result is………….

12st 7

I’ve lost 1 pound.  I’m heading in the right direction.  But only just so I need to be much better this week and not take anything for granted.  After all a couple of weeks ago it looked like I might hit my target by June but that’s now looking increasingly unlikely.

But at least it’s another £1 for the Charlie Cookson Foundation.  And with no special occasions expected this week hopefully the results will start to improve again.
